MTR Passenger Suffers Hand Injury Attempting to Retrieve Item from Tracks

In response to inquiries from the South China Morning Post regarding a video circulating on social media, the MTR Corporation disclosed that the incident transpired at 10pm on Friday. The affected train had just departed from Tiu Keng Leng, heading towards Po Lam.

Footage of the incident shows the passenger reaching out towards the tracks as the train door began to close, resulting in the entrapment of his hand. Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, — and the passenger was treated for his injuries.

An MTR spokesperson emphasized the dangers associated with attempting to retrieve items from the tracks, stating, “We urge all passengers to refrain from such actions to ensure their safety and the smooth operation of our services.”
