Victor Wembanyama Leads Spurs to First Win of Season Over Depleted Mavericks
Victor Wembanyama scores 23 points as the San Antonio Spurs secure their first victory of the season, defeating a short-handed Dallas Mavericks team 122-106.
POLICY WIRE — San Antonio, USA — Victor Wembanyama powered the San Antonio Spurs to their inaugural victory of the season on Friday, recording 23 points in a 122-106 win against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Spurs relied on a balanced offensive effort, with Dylan Harper contributing 22 points to help the team overcome a slow start. San Antonio maintained control throughout the contest, eventually pulling away from a Dallas roster that was missing its two primary players.
Despite the Mavericks’ depleted lineup, the Spurs did not fully assert their dominance until the final stages of the game. The win marks a significant turning point for San Antonio as they look to build momentum following their early-season struggles.
