Adani Enterprises Targets $210M Debt Raise Through Rupee Bonds, Says Bankers
Adani Enterprises plans to raise $210 million via rupee debt as it seeks fresh funding through short-term bonds.
POLICY WIRE — Mumbai, India — Adani Enterprises, the leading entity of India’s Adani Group, is considering a debt fundraising effort of approximately 20 billion rupees, or about $210 million, through the issuance of short-duration bonds, according to two merchant bankers with direct knowledge of the matter.
The proposed bond sale would feature maturities under five years, with the company aiming to finalize the offering within the current quarter. This move comes after recent credit rating upgrades and follows a series of fundraising activities over the past two years, including previous domestic debt offerings.
Earlier this year, the firm had planned to raise up to 10 billion rupees through private placements of two-year and six-month bonds, marking its first such initiative since 2023. Additionally, a public bond issue earlier in the year saw strong investor interest, with the offering oversubscribed on the launch day, as reported by multiple banking sources.
