POLICY WIRE — Seattle, USA — Two individuals were killed and five others sustained injuries in a shooting that occurred on Sunday evening during the Bite of Seattle food festival at the Seattle Center, located near the Space Needle. The Seattle Fire Department confirmed the casualties.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and have advised the public to avoid the area, which is situated just northwest of downtown Seattle. The gunfire broke out around 6 p.m. at the Seattle Center during the festival.

Susan Gregg, a spokesperson for Harborview Medical Center, stated that the hospital admitted four victims, including one who succumbed to injuries. The conditions of the other admitted victims are currently unknown.

The Seattle Police Department hasn’t yet released any information regarding potential suspects or motives behind the shooting. The incident has prompted an increased police presence in the area as investigations continue.
