Peter Navarro Accuses Fox News of Bias Against Trump and MAGA Issues

POLICY WIRE — City, Country — A senior advisor to the president has accused Fox News of failing to support former President Donald Trump, following the departure of anchor Maria Bartiromo.

Navarro, who serves as a key strategist in the administration, criticized the network during an appearance on Newsmax, highlighting what he described as a pattern of neglect toward Trump-related topics. He argued that executives at Fox have avoided addressing critical MAGA issues and instead focused on advertiser interests.

The controversy began when Bartiromo was reportedly let go after sharing an internal memo from Fox Business executive Ralph Giordano, which warned staff against promoting unverified claims about Chinese interference in the 2020 election. Navarro claimed it was his responsibility to relay this guidance, despite the impact on Bartiromo’s planned interview with him.

He also accused Fox CEO Suzanne Scott of avoiding coverage of Trump’s Oval Office speech, even though the network broadcast it while other major networks declined to do so. Navarro suggested that Scott’s actions reflected a broader strategy to suppress discussions on key MAGA themes, such as election integrity and trade policies.

Navarro further alleged that Fox provides only surface-level conservative content, such as debates on transgender issues, while silencing voices that address more controversial topics tied to Trump. He also claimed to have been “shadowbanned” by the network, despite having previously appeared on its programming.

The president publicly supported Bartiromo, calling her a total professional and a true warrior. Meanwhile, Fox has faced legal challenges related to its coverage of election fraud claims, including a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems in 2023.
