Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is representing Pakistan at the 16th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, the Caretaker Prime Minister was received by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdullah Nagmatovich Aripov at Tashkent International Airport.
During his discussions with Uzbekistan’s President Mirziyoyev, he focused on enhancing ties in trade, security, and other sectors. The leaders are committed to accelerating the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway for stronger regional links.
PM Kakar is set to present Pakistan’s vision for the future of the Economic Cooperation Organization, emphasizing regional connectivity and mutual prosperity. The ECO, established in 1985, has expanded its membership to include Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries, aiming to harness the economic potential of its member states.
In addition to the summit activities, the Prime Minister will visit the historic city of Samarkand, paying respects at the shrine of Hazrat Imam Bukhari. This visit underlines the cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and Commerce Minister Gohar Ejaz, PM Kakar’s presence at the reception for ECO leaders further highlights Pakistan’s active engagement in the regional forum.
Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO Vision 2025, promoting trade, transport, connectivity, energy, tourism, and economic growth, showcases the nation’s dedication to fostering regional collaboration and integration.
