POLICY WIRE — City, Country — A former Fox News producer who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against a network anchor has been found dead at her Florida residence, with authorities confirming the cause of death as suicide.

Jennifer Eckhart, 36, was discovered by her mother, Cynthia Eckhart, at her home in Hope Sound on Florida’s Treasure Coast. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death was ruled a suicide, according to a death investigation report obtained by The Independent.

Eckhart had previously settled a sexual assault lawsuit in June 2025 against Ed Henry, a former Fox News anchor who was dismissed from the network in July 2020. Henry, now with Newsmax, denied the allegations. She also faced legal trouble earlier in 2024 when she was arrested for allegedly assaulting an ex-boyfriend, though charges were later dropped due to insufficient evidence.

Following the dismissal of the assault case, Eckhart expressed relief and focused on her podcast, REINVENTED, and her non-profit, The Reinvented Project, which supports trauma survivors through animal-assisted therapy. She emphasized her commitment to helping others heal from abuse and violence, stating that her mission was to turn pain into purpose.

After resolving the lawsuit against Henry, Eckhart described the five-year legal battle as exhausting and retraumatizing, but she felt renewed in her efforts to assist trauma survivors. Her last social media post, in early June, hinted at upcoming projects without revealing details.
