POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — The Washington Wizards and the Charlotte Hornets are both looking to leverage positive momentum as they prepare for their matchup on Monday night.
Both franchises enter the contest coming off victories on Saturday, offering a promising start to their respective campaigns. Despite the optimism, the Hornets have faced significant challenges during their initial home appearances, including a 47-point defeat against Atlanta.
The Hornets also struggled to maintain an 11-point advantage during their road debut on Saturday, ultimately falling 125-121 to Philadelphia. That loss prevented Charlotte from securing a 2-0 start following their season-opening win.
Conversely, the Wizards are riding high after a 117-107 road victory against Dallas on Friday. That win was fueled by a career-high 34-point performance from George.
Both organizations are eager to reverse the trend of recent losing seasons. As they meet on the court, each side is searching for further evidence of a competitive breakthrough.
