Packers RB Josh Jacobs Returns to Practice, Poised for Sunday Debut Against Lions
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs returns to practice following his removal from the commissioner's exempt list. He is expected to play Sunday.
POLICY WIRE — Green Bay, USA — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs rejoined his teammates on the practice field this Wednesday, marking a significant step toward his anticipated season debut.
The Pro Bowl athlete is currently slated to suit up for Sunday’s matchup against the Detroit Lions. This return follows the NFL’s decision on Monday to officially clear Jacobs from the commissioner’s exempt list, granting him eligibility to participate in team activities for the first time this season.
Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed earlier this week that the team planned to integrate Jacobs into practice sessions starting Wednesday to ensure he receives a full week of preparation. Jacobs had previously been sidelined for the first six games of the season.
While Jacobs is cleared to practice and compete, the league’s investigation into his status remains active. The NFL retains the authority to impose further disciplinary action beyond the six games he has already served.
