Anthropic Secures Massive $45 Billion AI Cloud Deal with Nscale
Anthropic inks a $45 billion agreement to rent AI cloud computing power from Nscale's West Virginia data center to boost model training and deployment.
POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Artificial intelligence developer Anthropic has finalized a significant agreement to lease cloud computing resources from the infrastructure firm Nscale. The deal, valued at approximately $45 billion, marks a major expansion in the startup’s efforts to secure the necessary capacity for its growing model training and deployment needs.
Under the terms of the arrangement, Anthropic will gain access to dedicated computing power hosted at Nscale’s flagship data center campus located in West Virginia. The contract involves the rental of roughly 460 megawatts of compute capacity, providing the AI lab with a substantial block of infrastructure to support its operations.
The partnership highlights the intensifying competition among AI firms to lock in high-performance hardware as demand for advanced machine learning capabilities continues to climb. Nscale, a UK-based company backed by Nvidia, is positioning its West Virginia facility as a critical hub for this surge in industrial-scale AI development.
