Hezbollah Announces $14,000 Aid for Displaced Families Amid Iran Funding
Hezbollah to provide $14,000 in aid to families with destroyed homes, as Iran sends $200M despite U.S. sanctions.
POLICY WIRE — Beirut, Lebanon — Hezbollah has announced a financial assistance program offering up to $14,000 per household to families whose primary residences were destroyed or made uninhabitable during the recent conflict with Israel.
The group’s Executive Council chairman confirmed the initiative on Tuesday, highlighting the support for those affected by the ongoing hostilities. This comes amid reports that Hezbollah received $200 million from Iran last month to assist displaced Lebanese families, according to two sources familiar with the transfer.
Despite increased U.S. sanctions on Iran and regional tensions, the funding is reportedly the first major injection of resources to help those impacted by the war. The move underscores the continued financial backing of Hezbollah by Iran, even as global pressure mounts against the group.
