Dozens of Tennessee Walmart workers hospitalized after suspected food poisoning. Investigation underway.
POLICY WIRE — Lebanon, Tennessee — At least 19 employees at a Walmart Distribution Center in Lebanon, Tennessee, were taken to local hospitals following an apparent foodborne illness outbreak last week.
The incident occurred during an overnight shift when emergency crews responded to reports of a woman experiencing symptoms linked to a possible food-related illness. Additional units were called to the scene, and up to 30 workers were assessed on-site before 19 were transported for medical care.
Local health authorities are currently investigating the cause of the sudden illness, which affected workers who experienced nausea and vomiting. While initial reports suggested as many as 120 people were impacted, official figures later confirmed that only 19 were hospitalized. The source of the illness remains unknown, with no official statements released by health departments as of Sunday evening.
