UCLA Overcomes Turnovers to Top Oregon in 17-15 Victory
UCLA remains undefeated after defeating Oregon 17-15, overcoming turnovers and an injury to its starting quarterback.
POLICY WIRE — Eugene, Ore. — No. 21 UCLA secured a crucial 17-15 victory over No. 13 Oregon on Saturday, remaining undefeated despite a turnover-filled game and an injury to starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
Wayne Knight led the Bruins with a rushing touchdown and a receiving score, while backup quarterback Ty Dieffenbach stepped up in the second half after Iamaleava suffered a lower leg injury. Oregon’s struggles with turnovers and a late fumble cost them the chance to tie the game in the final moments.
The game saw 10 total turnovers, with seven coming from Oregon. Despite a strong effort from Oregon quarterback Dylan Raiola, who made his first start of the season, the Ducks fell short as UCLA’s defense held firm in the closing minutes.
