Firefly Halts All Flights Between Subang and Seletar Amid Regional Haze Crisis

POLICY WIRE — Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Malaysian low-cost airline Firefly has suspended all its scheduled flights between Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang and Singapore’s Seletar Airport through Monday, October 12, as a precautionary step amid deteriorating regional haze conditions.
The airline confirmed that all six round-trip daily flights between the two airports are affected, including flight numbers FY3122/FY3123, FY3124/FY3125, FY3126/FY3127, FY3128/FY3129, FY3130/FY3131, and FY3132/FY3133. Passengers impacted by the cancellations have been notified and offered alternative arrangements on Malaysia Airlines flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Changi Airport, subject to seat availability.
Travelers who choose not to take the rebooked flights are eligible for full refunds, which will be processed and returned to their original payment method within 30 working days. Firefly stated it is closely monitoring the evolving weather situation and will provide further updates directly to affected customers. In Malaysia, 14 areas recorded unhealthy air quality levels as of Sunday afternoon, with the Air Pollutant Index (API) reaching up to 200, while Singapore continues to experience hazy conditions with elevated PM2.5 readings.
