Comedian Rowan Atkinson to return to West End after 40 years with new show featuring Blackadder and Mr Bean.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — Comedian Rowan Atkinson is set to make a long-awaited return to the West End stage for the first time in 40 years, bringing back iconic characters such as Blackadder and Mr Bean in a new live performance.
The 71-year-old actor, best known for his work on the BBC sitcom Blackadder and the ITV series Mr Bean, will star in a show titled Rowan Live, which will feature classic sketches and roles from his career. He will collaborate once again with writers Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, as well as composer Howard Goodall, for the limited run of 30 performances.

In a statement shared by The Guardian, Atkinson reflected on the significance of the event, saying, It is 40 years since I last did a comedy sketch show in the West End. He also hinted at the show’s content, revealing that it will include some surprise new material written specifically for the occasion. Fans can catch the performance at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from 8 February until 13 March next year.
