Enten highlighted that Trump’s net approval on inflation has remained consistently negative, hovering around 50 points below zero. Recent Reuters/Ipsos polls show ratings of -52 in May, -48 in June, and -50 in both July and August. He described the numbers as unprecedented and unchanging over time.

Enten also pointed out that Trump has the 11 worst individual inflation poll ratings in U.S. history since April. This makes him the first president to have a net inflation rating 50 points underwater. While Biden’s inflation rating was 38 points below zero in August 2022, it was improving at the time, according to Enten. The issue of inflation has been central in the 2024 race, with voters favoring Trump over Kamala Harris, though Enten noted a 60-point shift against him on this issue.
