POLICY WIRE — Madrid, Spain — Real Madrid has officially confirmed the acquisition of Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig. The deal, valued at €125 million with an additional €15 million in potential add-ons, marks the most expensive transfer in the club’s history. At 19 years old, Diomandé also becomes the most expensive African player ever.

The announcement was made via an official club statement: “Real Madrid CF and RB Leipzig have agreed to the transfer of the player Yan Diomandé. The player will be linked to the club for the next 12 seasons, until June 30, 2033.”

Diomandé, an Ivory Coast international, has been highly sought after for his performances in the Bundesliga. His move to Real Madrid signifies a major investment in youth talent by the Spanish giants.
