POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Recent assessments indicate that the trade deal negotiated between the UK and the US under the Trump administration is no longer considered advantageous. Despite the UK continuing to face unchanged US tariffs, other nations have managed to secure more favorable trade terms.
The deal, once hailed as a significant achievement, now appears less impressive in comparison to agreements reached by other countries. This development underscores the evolving nature of global trade dynamics and the UK’s position within it.
As the UK navigates its post-Brexit trade landscape, the limitations of the Trump-era deal become increasingly apparent. Stakeholders are now questioning the long-term benefits and strategic value of this agreement.
