POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — US President Donald Trump encountered a significant legal obstacle as a federal appeals court ruled that the administration must cease the $400 million White House ballroom construction project. The court determined that the project lacked necessary Congressional approval.
This decision follows a legal challenge initiated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, which sought an injunction against the project last year. A three-judge panel upheld the injunction in a 2-to-1 ruling.
In response, Trump has pledged to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
