In the covert world of intelligence, alliances are rarely made public, but their consequences often spill into headlines. What appears on the surface as routine diplomacy can hide more sinister realities. This is precisely the case with the growing and dangerous cooperation between India’s external spy agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) and Israel’s notorious Mossad, allegedly operating with impunity inside Iran. While much of the world remains silent, Iran continues to suffer the effects of this hidden alliance through sabotage, assassinations, and foreign-instigated chaos.
Israel has a long history of targeting Iran’s nuclear program. From cyberattacks on enrichment facilities to the assassinations of top Iranian scientists, Mossad’s hand has been suspected in many violations of Iranian sovereignty. One of the most shocking was the 2020 assassination of Iranian nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, killed in broad daylight outside Tehran, an operation widely attributed to Mossad but behind Israel’s reach lies a disturbing enabler: India’s RAW, reportedly offering intelligence, access, and local networks to assist Israeli operations.
Over the past two decades, Iran has faced a campaign of targeted killings and explosions aimed at crippling its scientific progress. From 2010 to 2020, at least five nuclear scientists were murdered in operations Tehran openly blamed on Israel. Mossad has also been implicated in the 2018 raid that stole Iran’s nuclear archives and the 2021 sabotage at the Natanz facility, which severely disrupted uranium enrichment.
What these operations reveal is not just Israel’s aggression, but its precise intelligence capabilities inside Iran, an area that raises troubling questions. Who is providing Mossad with on-ground support and sensitive information? Iran is heavily fortified against American and Israeli infiltration, making local intelligence cooperation essential for such strikes. That’s where India’s RAW enters the picture.
India has long claimed neutrality in the Iran-Israel rivalry, but behind this façade lies an active partnership with Tel Aviv. Over the past two decades, India has purchased billions of dollars’ worth of Israeli weapons, drones, and cyber tools. Intelligence cooperation is at the heart of this relationship. Multiple reports and investigations have revealed that RAW and Mossad have operated together in counter-terrorism and surveillance, with RAW receiving technical training and intelligence-sharing support from Israel.
While these operations have previously focused on Pakistan and Kashmir, the growing signs of RAW’s involvement in Israeli missions inside Iran are deeply worrying. India has positioned its agents under cover in diplomatic, trade, and development missions, most notably in projects like Chabahar port. While these initiatives are presented as economic outreach, Iranian analysts have long suspected them to be a front for intelligence activities. With Israeli agents unable to directly operate inside Iran, RAW’s access and reach provide the perfect proxy.
What drives this nexus? At its core is a shared hostility toward the Islamic world. Israel’s aggression toward Iran is rooted in its fear of a rising regional power. For India, a far-right Hindutva ideology increasingly guides its foreign policy. The current Indian leadership, under Prime Minister Modi, has openly aligned with Zionist policies and has demonstrated consistent animosity toward Muslim-majority countries, especially Pakistan and Iran.
India’s collaboration with Mossad fits this ideological alliance. Both states reject the idea of Muslim regional power and seek to contain it through covert action. By aiding Mossad inside Iran, India not only undermines Tehran’s sovereignty but also positions itself as a willing partner in a broader anti-Muslim intelligence campaign. This cooperation is not built on shared values but on shared enmity.
The implications of this RAW-Mossad partnership are profound. Iran has already experienced internal chaos as a result of foreign interference, scientists assassinated, facilities sabotaged, and data stolen. Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad once alleged that even Iran’s counter-intelligence units were penetrated by Israeli spies. He went further to claim that sensitive nuclear information was passed to foreign agencies through internal betrayal. In this context, RAW’s presence in Iran becomes even more suspect. India’s history of covert destabilization in the region, including its admitted support for separatist movements in Pakistan, raises legitimate concerns about similar tactics being deployed inside Iran. The idea that India, a country with no direct conflict with Iran, would involve itself in such sabotage, reveals the depth of its alignment with Israel’s anti-Iran campaign.
Allowing such an intelligence partnership to flourish unchecked sets a dangerous precedent. The involvement of third-party states in covert wars increases the risk of wider conflict. Iran has every right to defend its sovereignty, and the continuing provocations by Israel, backed by foreign intelligence like RAW, could trigger retaliatory responses with regional consequences.
Moreover, this secret alliance violates international law. Assassinations, espionage, and sabotage conducted on foreign soil are criminal acts under any global framework. Yet, because the actors are Israel and India, both protected by Western interests, the international community has failed to hold them accountable. This double standard exposes the weakness of global institutions that claim to stand for justice and sovereignty.
It is time the world paid attention to this dangerous intelligence network. RAW and Mossad are not just gathering information, they are executing a hidden war against a sovereign nation. The consequences are not only visible in Iran’s losses but in the broader erosion of global norms. If such operations continue unchecked, other powers will follow, plunging the region into deeper instability. The international media, global watchdogs, and independent observers must call out this covert alliance. India cannot hide behind its mask of neutrality while fueling Israel’s campaign of terror against Iran. Nor can Mossad be allowed to continue its operations without facing consequences. Iran, like any sovereign nation, deserves peace, stability, and the right to protect its citizens from foreign aggression. The RAW-Mossad nexus is not just a threat to Tehran, it is a threat to the very principles of sovereignty and international law.
