POLICY WIRE — London, UK — — Prince William is scheduled to stand in for his father, King Charles, at the upcoming funeral services for King Harald V of Norway, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales will travel to Oslo next week to attend the ceremonies honoring the late monarch.

Accompanying the heir to the British throne will be his aunt, the Princess Royal.

While Prince William attends in an official capacity, the Princess Royal is making the trip for personal reasons, as she serves as the godmother to the new monarch, King Haakon VIII.

The funeral is scheduled for September 9 and will be held at Oslo Cathedral.
