Paul McCartney Concerned About Height Depiction in Beatles Biopic
Paul McCartney voices concerns over his height portrayal in Sam Mendes' Beatles biopic. Details on the upcoming film and cast.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — Paul McCartney has voiced concerns about how he is portrayed in Sam Mendes’ upcoming four-part Beatles biopic, which will feature each band member as the lead in their own film.
The project, set for an April 2028 release, stars Paul Mescal as McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Despite granting full music rights for the films, the 84-year-old musician has expressed reservations about his physical depiction.
McCartney shared his concerns during an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, noting that he was often shown as shorter than his bandmates in past adaptations. He mentioned that Mescal, who stands at five feet 11 inches, is shorter than Dickinson, who is six feet two inches tall. McCartney joked about how director Sam Mendes would handle the discrepancy, referencing a scene where the actors reenact crossing Abbey Road.
