Pakistan is once again showing the world its strength in diplomacy. In recent days, the country has played a key role in easing dangerous tensions in the Middle East. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir have received high praise from US President Donald Trump himself. This is a proud moment for every Pakistani.
On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Massad Boulos, a senior adviser to President Donald Trump. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey. They discussed important regional issues, especially the efforts to end the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
Pakistan has worked hard as a neutral and trusted mediator. Since the US-Israeli strikes on Iran began on February 28, Islamabad has helped bring the two sides closer. A ceasefire started on April 8 and has held for two weeks. Now, all eyes are on the April 21 deadline to make peace permanent.
The first direct talks between US and Iranian officials happened in Islamabad on April 11. Even though no final deal was reached that day, the talks were historic. Pakistan is now pushing for a second round of negotiations. This shows the country’s commitment to peace through dialogue.
During the meeting with Massad Boulos, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised President Trump’s bold leadership. He mentioned how Trump helped secure ceasefires between Pakistan and India last year, and also between Israel and Lebanon. He also stressed the need to strengthen Pakistan-US relations in key areas like trade, economy, and counterterrorism. He talked about working together on global challenges through multilateral forums.
Massad Boulos conveyed warm greetings from President Trump. He appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in bringing stability to the region. This meeting highlights that the United States values Pakistan’s efforts and wants deeper cooperation.
At the same time, President Donald Trump publicly thanked Pakistan in strong words. On his Truth Social platform, Trump described the developments as “a great and brilliant day for the world.” He specially praised Pakistan’s top leaders. Trump wrote: “Thank you to Pakistan and its Great Prime Minister and Field Marshall, two fantastic people!!!”
He called both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir “fantastic people.” Trump also thanked Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar for their bravery and help during the crisis.
Trump also shared good news about the Strait of Hormuz. This narrow waterway is very important for global oil trade. Iran had threatened to close it, which could have caused big issues for the world economy. Now, Iran has agreed not to close the strait again. Work is underway, with US assistance, to remove any sea mines. However, the US naval blockade will stay in place until the final negotiations are complete.
Trump made it clear that he does not want more wars. He said Israel will not bomb Lebanon anymore, as the US has prohibited it. These positive developments are largely due to Pakistan’s active diplomacy. By hosting talks in Islamabad and engaging with all sides, Pakistan has helped reduce tensions and open the door for peace. The leaders have shown wisdom and balance. They have built trust with both the US and Iran at a very difficult time.
This success is important for several reasons. First, it brings honour and respect to Pakistan on the international stage. When a country helps prevent a wider war, the world notices. Second, stronger ties with the United States can open new doors for Pakistan in trade and investment. Better economic cooperation will help create jobs and support growth at home.
Third, Pakistan’s role as a mediator shows that they are a responsible nation. They believe in solving problems through talks, not force. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also held useful meetings in Turkey. He met ministers from Singapore, Bangladesh, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. These talks focused on building stronger bilateral relations. Pakistan is reaching out to many allies around the world.
Field Marshal Asim Munir’s role has also been recognised. His steady leadership and strategic guidance have supported Pakistan’s peace efforts. Together with the Prime Minister, he forms a strong team that is working for the country’s interests.
Of course, challenges remain. The ceasefire is still fragile. The second round of talks needs careful planning, but Pakistan has already proven it can bring parties together. With continued smart diplomacy, there is real hope for a lasting agreement.
The people of Pakistan can feel proud today. The country is not just watching global events, they are shaping them in a positive way. From the mountains of Pakistan to the forums in Turkey, their voice for peace is being heard.
In the end, good diplomacy benefits everyone. It saves lives, protects economies, and builds friendships. Pakistan should keep this momentum going. They must invest more in diplomatic skills and continue to act as a bridge between different regions and powers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the entire Pakistani team deserve congratulations for their hard work. Their efforts have made the region safer and raised Pakistan’s standing in the world.
Pakistan is rising as a mature and important player in global affairs. This is just the beginning. With unity and wise leadership at home, the country can achieve even greater success in the years ahead.
