POLICY WIRE — Hong Kong — The Li Ka Shing Foundation has announced a collaboration with The Walt Disney Company to provide 24,000 free tickets for foreign domestic helpers to watch the latest installment of the Toy Story franchise. This initiative aims to support Hong Kong’s migrant workers.
The foundation, established by tycoon Li Ka-shing, stated on Tuesday that the screenings for Toy Story 5 will be held across six local cinemas over four consecutive Sundays in August. Attendees will receive complimentary popcorn — and drinks.
This partnership marks another effort by the Li Ka Shing Foundation to enhance the welfare of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong. Previous collaborations have focused on providing educational — and recreational opportunities for this community.
The Walt Disney Company has expressed its commitment to supporting community initiatives and is pleased to partner with the Li Ka Shing Foundation for this event. “We’re excited to bring joy and entertainment to the domestic helpers who work tirelessly to support families in Hong Kong,” said a Disney spokesperson.
Details regarding ticket distribution — and cinema locations will be announced in the coming weeks. The foundation encourages interested parties to stay tuned for further announcements.
