While hosting a major farming event called Cereals at Diddly Squat, he attempted to drill barley into a field that all attendees would pass by. However, he failed to level the drill, neglected to turn on the fan, and did not drive in a straight line. These mistakes were captured on camera and will be featured in season six, which recently won a National Television Award.
Clarkson described how Cooper, who is not from a farming background, was deeply affected by the incident. In one scene, Cooper delivers an emotional speech, expressing fear that farmers would no longer view him as a legitimate farmer. The moment, according to Clarkson, was one of the most heartfelt he has ever witnessed. He later joked about needing to drink his own beer to cope with the shame.
