Heidi Klum Transforms into Gruesome Giant Severed Hand for Annual Halloween Bash
Heidi Klum shocks at her New York Halloween party with a realistic severed hand costume. See the gory details behind the star's latest transformation.
POLICY WIRE — New York, USA — Heidi Klum underwent a macabre transformation on Saturday, appearing as a massive, gory severed hand for her signature Halloween celebration. The event marked the 25th year the model has hosted the highly anticipated annual gathering.
The supermodel was completely unrecognizable in the ensemble, with only her eyes and mouth visible. The costume featured blood dripping from her mouth while she posed with her tongue out for cameras.
The upper portion of the prosthetic hand ended in a gruesome display of hanging tendons and ligaments. To assist with the spectacle, Klum was accompanied by a team of helpers dressed in blood-splattered hazmat suits.
The concept for the outfit originated last year when Klum envisioned turning herself into her own left hand. The design included specific details such as long red nails, a thumb ring, and her actual wedding and engagement bands.
“I looked at my hand and I thought, ‘Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,’” Klum remarked.
Klum has a history of viral costumes, most notably in 2022 when she arrived at the party suspended from a fishing line while dressed as a writhing worm.
Over the years, she has donned a wide variety of personas, including the Greek myth Medusa, a peacock, an eight-foot-tall Transformer, and a werewolf from the Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ music video. She has also appeared as a clone of herself and the Hindu goddess of destruction, Kali.
The star noted that while it took five to six hours to physically don the hand costume, the actual construction of the piece required significantly more time.
Earlier in the day, she shared glimpses of the process on Instagram, showing the application of bloodied prosthetics to her face.
“Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it,” Klum said.
Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, was unable to attend this year’s festivities due to his ongoing music tour schedule.
However, the costume featured personal touches, including realistic palm lines and veins, along with a tattoo of Kaulitz’s name on the ring finger. “A little bit of Tom is with me,” she noted.
