Bob Saget’s Posthumous Role in New Netflix Documentary Revealed
Bob Saget's final project, 'Who Is Martin Mull?', to debut on Netflix. The documentary explores the late comedian's legacy.
POLICY WIRE — New York, United States — Bob Saget’s last creative endeavor will be released on Netflix, more than four years after his passing.
The comedian, who passed away at 65 in 2022 due to an accidental head injury sustained during a stand-up tour, will make a posthumous appearance in the documentary ‘Who Is Martin Mull?’ The film, set for release on October 7, explores the life of the late painter and musician Martin Mull.
Saget co-directed and executive produced the project, which features interviews with Mull, who died in June 2024 at the age of 80. A trailer for the film shows Saget conducting conversations with Mull, including a lighthearted exchange where Saget calls him a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ and Mull jokingly responds, ‘Jerk-of-all-trades.’

Saget began working on the documentary in 2018, with director Neil Berkeley taking over after his sudden death. Berkeley expressed gratitude for being able to finish the project, thanking Netflix for its support. The film includes footage and interviews with figures like Steve Martin, Tom Waits, and David Alan Grier, highlighting Mull’s impact on comedy.
The documentary is one of four comedy-themed films scheduled for release on Netflix in October. Other titles include ‘Paralyzed by Hope: The Maria Bamford Story,’ ‘Norm: The Tale of Norm McDonald,’ and ‘SCTV: The Greatest Show You’ve Never Heard Of.’
