He sold it following personal losses, including the death of his son earlier this year. The property survived the 2021 Dixie Fire, thanks to his son and employees who helped contain the flames. Belden’s history dates back to the California Gold Rush, with its population once reaching 1,000 before declining due to economic shifts and environmental changes.
