The match turned decisively in Barcelona’s favor following a red card issued to Facundo Bernal, which left Real Betis playing with 10 men. Despite the disadvantage, the hosts managed to reduce the deficit twice through goals from Valentin Gomez and Ez Abde, though they were unable to overcome the league leaders.

Under the guidance of manager Hansi Flick, Barcelona now sits five points clear at the top of the table. The result reinforces their status as the team to beat as they continue their blistering start to the domestic season.
