Pakistan’s startup ecosystem is making global headlines again. Bookme, the country’s top e-ticketing platform, has signed a landmark deal with Saudi Arabia’s leading loyalty and rewards company, Resal. The partnership, finalized on September 4 in Riyadh, is being called a breakthrough moment for both sides and a symbol of Pakistan’s growing role in the global digital economy.
Under this agreement, Bookme becomes the official ticketing technology provider for Resal. Starting in October, millions of customers across the Kingdom will be able to redeem loyalty points for real-world experiences, flights, hotel stays, concerts, and sporting events, all powered by Pakistani innovation. For Pakistan, this deal highlights how local startups are successfully exporting digital technology and becoming trusted partners in the Gulf tech market.
Bookme’s journey is a remarkable story of Pakistani entrepreneurship. Launched in 2013 by Faizan Aslam, the company began as a small service for booking cinema and bus tickets online. Today, it is Pakistan’s largest cashless e-ticketing platform, with more than 15 million registered users, 30 banking and app integrations, and over 80 million bookings processed in just 11 years.
After dominating the local market, Bookme expanded internationally. In 2024, it entered Saudi Arabia by partnering with Mrsool, a popular delivery app, and the Saudi Tourism Authority. Earlier this year, it signed with Flydeal, a Saudi low-cost airline, to enable direct flight bookings between Pakistan and the Kingdom, a deal expected to generate $20 million annually. Now, with Resal, Bookme is scaling up to a whole new level.
Resal is the Kingdom’s biggest name in digital rewards and loyalty programs. It serves more than 2.5 million customers and works with over 1,000 partners, including Saudi Aramco, STC, SAB Bank, and Mobily. Known for prepaid digital cards and corporate rewards, Resal is now extending its reach into travel, leisure, and entertainment.
“Expanding from digital rewards to real-world experiences creates more value for employees and customers across the Kingdom,” Resal CEO Hatem Kameli said during the signing ceremony.
The partnership means that Resal customers will soon be able to book air travel, hotels, sports events, and cultural activities with their loyalty points. This shift aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 digital transformation strategy and makes Bookme a key player in the Kingdom’s booming digital economy.
One of the most exciting features of the Bookme-Resal partnership is the ability for users to combine loyalty points from multiple programs. For the first time in Saudi Arabia, customers will be able to merge points from a bank, a telecom provider, and a workplace program to unlock larger redemptions, such as international flights or long hotel stays.
Currently, Bookme has around 450,000 users in Saudi Arabia. With Resal’s massive customer base, this figure is expected to cross one million by the end of 2025. “We easily see our base in the Kingdom going more than double this year, touching one million,” Bookme founder Faizan Aslam said confidently.
Bookme’s technology is entirely developed in Pakistan. The site is based on secure API integrations to offer real-time ticket availability and immediate confirmations. It also provides multi-language customer support in Arabic and English, so Saudi users can easily adapt to the service. This home-grown innovation is already competing with the best in the Gulf tech market. Bookme is showing that Pakistani startups are not just surviving at the international level—they are thriving through reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
For Saudi Arabia, the partnership modernizes loyalty programs and gives millions of users more meaningful ways to redeem their points. For Pakistan, it is a source of national pride. A company born in Lahore is now trusted by some of the Kingdom’s largest corporations, proving that Pakistani startups can deliver world-class digital solutions. Bookme is also in talks with several banks across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Some deals are awaiting Saudi Central Bank approval, which will further strengthen its position in the region once finalized. This is a classic win-win: Saudi Arabia enriches its digital ecosystem while Pakistan earns global recognition for exporting technology.
The Bookme-Resal partnership shows what is possible when innovation meets opportunity. It proves that Pakistani startups are no longer limited to domestic markets—they are entering international digital supply chains with confidence and credibility. It also reflects the growing trust between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in integrating technology and business.
If Bookme reaches its target of one million Saudi users by the end of this year, it will not only establish itself firmly in the Kingdom but also open doors for other Pakistani startups to explore the Gulf technology market. This is not just a story about booking tickets, it is about Pakistan exporting digital confidence, building new economic bridges, and proving that its entrepreneurs can lead in one of the fastest-growing digital economies in the world.
