POLICY WIRE — Adygeysk, Russia — A major distribution facility belonging to the e-commerce giant Ozon was targeted in a drone attack, resulting in significant structural damage and operational shutdowns.
Murat Kumpilov, the head of Adygea, officially confirmed that a fire broke out at the site as a direct consequence of an unmanned aerial vehicle attack. Evidence from intelligence analysis by the Astra Telegram channel indicates that a portion of the warehouse roof collapsed during the incident, supported by footage captured by eyewitnesses.
The affected facility covers an estimated 10,000 square meters and serves as one of the company’s primary logistics hubs for southern Russia. In the aftermath of the strike, Ozon reported that all staff members were successfully evacuated and that no injuries have been recorded.
In response to the damage, Ozon has temporarily halted new deliveries from sellers at the Adygeysk center. Items currently in transit are being routed to alternative locations, while inventory stored at the damaged facility is being hidden from the marketplace. Orders that cannot be fulfilled through other hubs are marked for cancellation.
This incident occurred as the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 709 drones overnight across 11 different regions, including Krasnodar Krai, the Moscow region, Adygea, Crimea, and areas over the Sea of Azov and Black Sea.
