Russian Strike on Zaporizhzhia Aid Hub Leaves 26 Dead Amid US Peace Talks
A deadly Russian bombing of a Zaporizhzhia aid center has killed 26 people while the US announces upcoming peace negotiations scheduled for November.
POLICY WIRE — Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine — A devastating Russian aerial strike on a humanitarian distribution center in southern Ukraine has resulted in at least 26 fatalities, according to Ukrainian officials.
Ukraine’s emergency services agency confirmed that the bombing targeted both an aid hub and an adjacent shelter. The attack has significantly worsened the volatile situation in the region and drawn widespread international condemnation.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced the assault, labeling it as vile. He argued that the strike demonstrates Moscow has no genuine interest in de-escalating the ongoing conflict.
The tragedy occurred just as the United States revealed its intention to facilitate new diplomatic efforts. These peace talks are currently scheduled to take place on November 10 and 11.
Authorities in the Zaporizhzhia region continue to manage the aftermath of the blast as the death toll remains at 26 following the strike on civilian infrastructure.
