Russian FSB Claims Interception of Explosive-Rigged FPV Goggles Sent to Soldiers
The FSB reports seizing booby-trapped FPV goggles rigged with homemade explosives intended for Russian soldiers in the latest security operation.
POLICY WIRE — Moscow, Russia — Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Monday that it intercepted a shipment of first-person view (FPV) goggles that had been rigged with explosives.
According to the agency, the dangerous consignment was intercepted when addressed to a serviceman in the Volgograd Oblast via the Russian postal service.
This discovery marks a recurrence of a similar incident reported in February, where Ukrainian intelligence agencies allegedly used drone equipment as lethal traps for Russian personnel.
The FSB stated that the devices were recovered from multiple regions across the country, suggesting a broader effort to distribute such items.
In previous instances of this tactic, individuals who utilized the goggles were reported to have suffered serious injuries.
