US Air Force Officer Evacuated from UK Amid Child Abuse Image Allegations
A senior US Air Force officer stationed at the London embassy was flown out of the UK before British police could question him over child abuse images.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — A high-ranking United States Air Force officer stationed at the American embassy in London was transported out of the United Kingdom before British authorities could conduct an interrogation regarding allegations of child sexual abuse material possession.
The officer, identified as Lt. Col. Michael Morris, served as an assistant military attache at the diplomatic mission. Reports indicate that he was detained at his residence in south London before being removed from the country in August.
Because of his departure, British police were unable to question the officer prior to his exit. The military official is now scheduled to face a hearing at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland next month to address charges related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
