Ather Energy Hits Maiden Quarterly Profit as Shares Surge 10%
Indian electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy reports its first-ever quarterly profit of Rs 1.26 crore, driving a 10% jump in company share prices.
POLICY WIRE — Bengaluru, India — Ather Energy has officially reached a significant financial milestone, reporting its first-ever quarterly net profit. The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer announced a profit of Rs 1.26 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2026.
This performance marks a dramatic turnaround from the same period last year, when the company recorded a loss of Rs 154.07 crore. Following the announcement on Monday, October 26, shares of the company climbed 10%, with some trading sessions seeing surges as high as 17%.
The company’s financial health was bolstered by a 63% increase in revenue, with sales reaching INR 14,642.4 million compared to INR 8,988.8 million during the previous year. This growth was driven by strong consumer demand for the company’s electric scooters, including the Rizta model, alongside improved operational efficiencies.
Beyond the net profit, Ather Energy also achieved a positive position in Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the first time. While the company celebrates this maiden profitability, market analysts are now shifting their focus toward future cash generation capabilities as the firm manages rising capital expenditures and new capacity expansions.
