Zelenskyy Confirms Resumption of Missile Early Warning Intelligence Following Rubio Call
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy confirms the return of critical missile early warning data from U.S. partners after high-level talks with Secretary Marco Rubio.
POLICY WIRE — Oslo, Norway — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Tuesday that Kyiv has successfully restored access to vital early warning intelligence from international partners regarding incoming Russian missile strikes. This development follows a period of several days where the Ukrainian government reported a lack of advance notice for ballistic threats targeting the capital.
Zelenskyy credited the breakthrough to recent diplomatic engagement, specifically highlighting a productive phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The president emphasized that such intelligence is essential for protecting civilians and allowing military units to prepare defensive interceptions.
While in Oslo for meetings with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as leaders from Norway and Finland, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the renewed cooperation. Meanwhile, Secretary Rubio, speaking from India, denied that the U.S. had implemented any formal policy shift regarding intelligence sharing or weapons support, despite acknowledging existing tensions over supply logistics.
