Former Virgin Atlantic CEO Shai Weiss Joins Navan Board Following Airline Departure
Former Virgin Atlantic chief Shai Weiss joins the board of travel platform Navan after stepping down from his airline leadership role in December.
POLICY WIRE — London, United Kingdom — Shai Weiss, the former chief executive who steered Virgin Atlantic Airways through the turbulence of the COVID-19 pandemic, has secured a new leadership position. Weiss has been appointed to the board of directors at Navan, a California-based platform specializing in business travel, payments, and expense management.
This appointment marks a significant professional move for Weiss, who concluded his six-year tenure at the helm of the airline in December. His history with the company dates back to 2014, when he originally joined the organization as its chief financial officer.
While Weiss transitions to the tech sector, other industry shifts continue to reshape the infrastructure landscape. Notably, I Squared has moved to acquire the traffic management firm Ramudden Global in a transaction valued at more than €2 billion, utilizing capital from its ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund IV.
