VinFast Revenue Surges 85.5% as Global Expansion and Asset Sales Offset Losses
VinFast reports an 85.5% revenue jump in Q2 2026 as international expansion and manufacturing asset sales help the EV maker narrow its net losses.
POLICY WIRE — Hanoi, Vietnam — Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast announced a significant 85.5% year-on-year increase in revenue for the second quarter of 2026. The company generated 30.34 trillion Vietnamese dong, or approximately US$1.2 billion, during the period.
The financial results highlight a period of rapid growth, driven by a surge in vehicle deliveries. VinFast delivered 70,085 electric vehicles in the second quarter, marking a 20% increase over the first quarter of 2026 and a 96% jump compared to the same period in 2025.
A strategic restructuring plan initiated in May played a pivotal role in the company’s bottom line. The transfer of manufacturing assets valued at roughly $530 million contributed to a one-off gain of $1.18 billion, which helped narrow the firm’s net loss.
Despite the revenue growth, the company continues to face financial headwinds. Operating losses widened to $1.16 billion, and the company reported a net loss from continuing operations of 13,321 Vietnamese dong per share.
VinFast remains committed to its aggressive international expansion strategy. The company continues to invest heavily in overseas markets while navigating the challenges of scaling its global electric vehicle production.
