US Soybean Exports to China Rebound in September Following Trade Truce
China imported 360,878 metric tons of US soybeans in September, marking a significant recovery from zero arrivals during the same period last year.
POLICY WIRE — Beijing, China — China recorded 360,878 metric tons of soybean imports from the United States during September. This figure marks a notable recovery, as the country reported zero arrivals from the U.S. during the same month one year ago.
The influx of American crops follows a series of purchases finalized under a trade agreement intended to resolve the previous year’s trade conflict. These shipments have continued to reach Chinese ports as part of the ongoing implementation of that deal.
This rebound in U.S. volume occurs despite a broader decline in China’s total soybean imports compared to the previous year. Additionally, shipments originating from Brazil have shown a slight decrease during the same timeframe.
