Trump Confirms US May Target Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain Nuclear Facility
US President Donald Trump confirms Washington is evaluating Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear facility for a potential military strike soon.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, United States — President Donald Trump stated that the United States might need to target the Pickaxe Mountain site, which is connected to Iran’s nuclear program, as part of his objective to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
During a Thursday interview with Newsmax, the American leader confirmed that Washington is actively evaluating the heavily fortified underground nuclear complex as a potential target for future military action.
Described as Iran’s most difficult-to-reach facility, the president indicated that taking a shot right in the front door was not merely casual conversation.
Washington could strike the location very soon, marking the latest iteration of threats made against the heavily protected installation, according to the commander-in-chief.
Authorities will be striking that area quite soon and quite heavily, the president noted regarding the subterranean Iranian nuclear location.
On Monday, the U.S. commander-in-chief mentioned that American forces could soon attack the location while launching a fresh wave of strikes against the nation.
This follows previous threats issued by the administration, including a July statement where the leader asserted the U.S. would take out the site and warned Tehran to prepare for an offensive, as reported by Reuters.
The latest threats arrive amid Israeli intelligence assessments indicating that thousands of centrifuges were relocated inside the compound last fall.
