POLICY WIRE — Kigali, Rwanda — Rwanda will host Formula One for the first time since 1993 as part of a landmark 10-year agreement, with the African Grand Prix set to debut in the early 2030s.

The deal marks a historic return of the sport to the African continent, with the race scheduled to take place at a newly constructed circuit in Bugesera, approximately 40 kilometers south of Kigali. The event, titled the Formula 1 African Grand Prix and presented by Visit Rwanda, is expected to boost tourism and economic development in the region.
