U.S. Targets Chinese Hacking Firm in New Cybersecurity Operation
U.S. officials seize seven domains linked to Chinese firm Integrity Tech, targeting hacking operations against critical infrastructure.
POLICY WIRE — Washington, United States — U.S. authorities have taken action against a Chinese IT company by seizing seven internet domains as part of an ongoing effort to counter cyber threats.
The Justice Department revealed the move on Thursday, stating that the domains were being used to support hacking activities linked to Integrity Technology Group. These efforts reportedly targeted critical infrastructure systems in the U.S. and abroad.
This marks the second public disruption of Integrity Tech’s cyber infrastructure. In September 2024, the department reported taking down a large botnet associated with the company, which included over 250,000 compromised devices globally. The FBI has previously connected Integrity Tech to a major Chinese hacking group known as ‘Flax Typhoon,’ which is believed to be working for Beijing’s intelligence agencies.
