The complaint states that after being bitten on her upper thigh, she returned to the beach but received inadequate medical attention from the resort’s staff.

According to the lawsuit, the resort’s nurse took her credit card information but failed to provide sufficient care, and it took an hour for an ambulance to arrive. Martin was later sent back to the resort and instructed to stay in her room while insurance issues were resolved, despite requiring further treatment. Her condition worsened, leading to emergency care in Miami, Florida, and extensive medical procedures.
