POLICY WIRE — York, Pennsylvania — A legendary water ride at Hersheypark has officially closed its gates after 32 years of thrilling visitors with its high-speed splash drops.
The attraction, known as Tidal Force, was one of the most iconic features at The Boardwalk, Hersheypark’s water park. Guests experienced a 100-foot ascent before plunging down at over 50 mph, creating massive waves that often left bystanders soaked.
Hersheypark announced the permanent closure in June, giving fans a final chance to ride the attraction through Labor Day. Despite the bittersweet farewell, the park is preparing for its upcoming Halloween season, which will run from September 12 to November 1.
