The victim was attacked with a knife and sustained fatal injuries overnight at a railway station in Bavaria. Authorities detained a 27-year-old German man at the scene.
In a separate incident on May 23, 2025, a mass stabbing occurred at Hamburg Central Station. Eighteen individuals were wounded during the attack. The perpetrator, a 39-year-old woman named Lydia S., was subdued by bystanders until police arrived.
Police have ruled out political or terrorist motives in the Hamburg incident. They believe the attacker was influenced by mental illness due to her history.
