Love, Bonito warns Singapore customers of potential scam risks following a data breach that exposed personal information. CEO issues alert.
POLICY WIRE — Singapore — Singapore fashion retailer Love, Bonito has notified customers that personal data may have been compromised due to a security vulnerability on its website. Unauthorized access to account information was possible through the breach.
In an email sent to customers on Thursday, CEO Dione Song disclosed that the company identified and resolved the vulnerability on Sunday.
According to the company’s investigations, the affected data includes customers’ names, dates of birth, email addresses, shipping addresses, and phone numbers. Financial information — and passwords were not exposed, as per the company’s statement.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience — and concern this incident may have caused,” Song said in the email. “We’re committed to enhancing our security measures to prevent future occurrences.”
The company urged customers to remain vigilant against potential scams — and phishing attempts. It advised customers to monitor their accounts for any unusual activity and to contact the company immediately if they suspect any fraudulent use of their information.
Love, Bonito has engaged cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough review of its systems and implement additional protective measures. The company is also cooperating with relevant authorities to address the breach.
