The Madison Police Department received an anonymous tip about an event at the unaccredited Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Upon arrival, officers discovered approximately 30 men in the basement, some with visible injuries and others covered in food, condiments, and other substances. The room’s temperature was reported to be 81 degrees.

Two individuals, identified as Brayden J. Klein and Samuel N. Vane, were taken into custody on charges of hazing and disorderly conduct. The fraternity’s president and vice president were present during the incident but it remains unclear if they held those roles. The university and national Alpha Epsilon Pi organization have both condemned the alleged actions, stating they will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.
