The affected models include Volkswagen Tiguan, Touran, Golf, Golf Variant, Caddy, and Audi Q3. The recall covers vehicles manufactured between September 2013 and July 2024 for the Volkswagen models, and October 2017 to May 2024 for the Audi Q3.

Volkswagen stated that the defect could lead to a loss of steering control under certain conditions, though no incidents have been reported so far. The company will replace the faulty screw with a more corrosion-resistant version at no cost to owners, with repairs taking up to an hour.
