POLICY WIRE — Washington, D.C. — US missiles targeted locations across Iran on Friday. President Donald Trump threatened “major military punishment” for Tehran and its Houthi allies in Yemen, while suggesting the possibility of a diplomatic resolution with Iran.

In a separate incident, the US military reported firing on and disabling a tanker ship after it failed to comply with warnings and the American blockade on Iranian ports.

This development comes two weeks after the breakdown of an interim truce intended to end hostilities. The Iranian armed forces have yet to issue an official statement regarding the strikes.
