POLICY WIRE — Washington, United States — The U.S. State Department confirmed approval of a foreign military sale that would deliver 500 Patriot PAC‑3 interceptor missiles to Ukraine, a transaction valued at about $2.1 billion.
The package comprises PAC‑3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) rounds together with the necessary launch equipment, representing one of the costliest Ukraine‑related arms deals to date.
The approval, announced on Oct. 30, aligns with statements from NATO’s senior military commander that American air‑defence deliveries to Kyiv are moving forward.
Funding for the sale comes from U.S. appropriations and is intended to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to counter missile threats as the conflict continues.
